Malta publishes names of foreigners who acquired citizenship through IIP

The Government of Malta has published , the names of all naturalized citizens of Malta, during Jan-Dec 2016 in Official Gazette of Malta.  The names of all persons who obtained Maltese citizenship under the Individual Investor Program (IIP) are also published in the list together with those who naturalized under the normal process.

The Malta Government Gazette publishes the names of people who obtained citizenship every year, which is available to download as pdf in the below website for the years 2011 to 2016.

Malta IIP offers full EU citizenship to foreign investors and their family members under its citizenship by investment programme. The whole process is expected to take about 12 months, costing upto 900,000 euros. Maltese citizenship granted would be considered as permanent. Malta IIP does not accept nationals from Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea or other nationals who have connections in these countries.  Maltese passport is regarded as one of the best european travel documents in the world with visa free access to over 160 countries.

As per the new Malta IIP statistics, Malta received

  • €249,328,799 the National Development and Social Fund until  30th June 2017, since launching the IIP programme
  • 566 successful main applicants till the end of June 2017 since the launch
  • 18% is the overall application refusal rate since the launch
