UK tier 1 investor visa program is the most popular investment migration program to the United Kingdom for high net worth investors and their families. The investment minimum for UK tier1 visas is set at £2,000,000 based on PBS -points based system. The investor scheme offers a fast track option of settlement in the United Kingdom and later path to citizenship meeting all the requirements. The entry clearance decision is given within 3 weeks.
According to latest statistics from UK home office,
- UK has granted a total of 5,760 tier1 investor visas granted as of Q1 2017 from its inception.
- Chinese, Russians and Americans are leading investors in UK tier 1 investor program.
Please note that , as from 6 Nov 2014, UK announced increase in tier 1 investor visa from £1 million to £2 million. You will see a big drop in number of applications during that time in the below graph.
On June 23, 2016 UK voted to leave the European Union and withdrawal date is set at 30 March 2019 at 00:00 (Brussels time). The number of investor visa application during Q3 2016 reveal, Brexit did not have any effect on number of tier 1 investor applications, in fact the number of applications actually increased, with the falling value of pound.
