Vanuatu now accepts taking Oaths by Video due to Corona outbreak

The Corona virus outbreak has hit the Vanuatu CIP preventing passport officers travel to Asia to oversee taking oaths for CBI clients. Many airlines have called off flights to China and other neighboring countries due to corona virus outbreak. The virus outbreak has affected travel and tourism industry and many other businesses in China.

The Vanuatu Citizenship by investment program remains the most attractive passport scheme competing with other very good caribbean schemes such Grenada and St Kitts at the same price level.

To simplify the citizenship process, the Vanuatu Citizenship commission has announced, due to outbreak of corona virus, oaths will be accepted by video conference for main applicant and spouse. Previously Vanuatu accepted Oaths appearing in front of officer.

“Due to the spread of CORONA VIRUS in Asia region and restriction borders , The Office of the Citizenship an/Commission has accepted digital media (Video Conference) for the Oaths presentation”, said Citizenship commission in a press statement.

The 2019 amendments to DSP/VCP schemes has set USD 130,000 as minimum threshold for agents offering these schemes to clients.

So far there are 31 authorized agents approved for DSP scheme and 1 agent approved for VCP scheme by the Citizenship commission.
