Turkey has received over 250 applications for citizenship through investment worth nearly $100 million as of the end of 2018. This also means on average foreign investor invested $400,000 Â per application, well above the $250,000 minimum.
Turkey launched its citizenship by investment program in 2017 for $1 million but in in Sep 2018 the Ministry dramatically cut prices to $250,000 (real estate) or $500,000 (bank deposit or bonds) to boost foreign investment in Turkey
Turkey offers instant citizenship, equal rights with turkish citizens and dual citizenship to foreign investors through the citizenship by investment program. The Interior Ministry will take decision within 45 days if all the documents are complete.
The most popular locations to buy property are Istanbul, Antalya and Bursa. In November 2018, 4672 houses were sold to foreigners. increasing 117.1% compared to the same month of the previous year. İstanbul was the first province with 1922 sales, Antalya with 797 house sales, Bursa with 301 house sales, Ankara with 278 house sales and Yalova with 229 house sales.
Iraqi citizens bought 1 003 houses from Turkey in November. The followers of Iraq were Iran with 463 house sales, Afghanistan and Russia with 261 house sales, Saudi Arabia with 233 house sales.
Turkey has the 51st powerful passport in the world with visa free travel to 111 countries as of 2018 according to HPI. Turkish citizens can visit these countries without visas: Argentina, Japan, Brazil, South Africa, Qatar, South Korea, Malaysia etc.
