Turkey gets visa free access to Azerbaijan

Effective Sep 1, 2019, Turkish citizens can travel to Azerbaijan visa free for 30 days (1 month).

This was announced by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan according No: 213/19, Press Release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cancellation of the visa requirement for citizens of the Republic of Turkey.

The lifting of visa restrictions is to promote bilateral relations with two countries including opening up the country for tourism and business.

Turkish passport had visa free access to 110 countries as of 2019.  Turkey also runs a citizenship by investment (CBI) program offering immediate citizenship for property investors who invest $250,000.  Moldova and Montenegro passport holders also have visa free access to Azerbaijan for 90 days.

Turkey is also progressing towards achieving visa free access with Russia. This month Russia announced visa free entry for Turkish nationals with special and service passports according to presidential decree of July 25th.
