St Kitts and Nevis has established diplomatic relations with Bosnia Herzegovina in Dec 2019. As a result of this the two countries have expressed a desire to sign a mutual visa waiver agreement for citizens of both the countries to travel each other for business and tourism.
His Excellency Sven Alkalaj, signed a Joint Communique to establish diplomatic relations between St. Kitts and Nevis and Bosnia Herzegovina on Friday 6th December 2019.
“The Ambassadors expressed mutual desire to pursue deeper diplomatic relations, including the possibility of signing a mutual visa waiver agreement”, according to press release by St Kitts Government.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a landlocked country in the Adriatic sea with a $20 billion economy with a population of 3.8 million residents.  Bosnia and Herzegovina ranks highly in terms of human development, and has an economy dominated by the industry and agriculture sectors, followed by the tourism and service sectors. The country is an applicant for membership to the European Union and has been a candidate for NATO membership since April 2010
Agriculture, Service, Tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina are a fast-growing sectors making up an important part in the economy. The country has reputation as an excellent ski destination with its Olympic mountain ski resorts such as Bjelašnica, Igman and Jahorina.  In 2018, the country received 1.8 million tourists of these 70% of the tourists came from foreign countries.
