Grenada CBI Unit Becomes Investment Migration Agency

The Grenada Government has rebranded Citizenship by Investment Unit with the new name Grenada Investment Migration Agency (IMA)

Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell highlighted its significant contributions to our nation’s development, at the launch of the rebranding of the Citizenship By Investment (CBI) programme to the Investment Migration Agency (IMA) Grenada,

The Prime Ministers office in a statement released said in 2022, the Investment Programme generated approximately EC$192M and in 2023, this number soared to over EC$456M, representing more than 30% of our government’s total revenue. With a projected revenue of approximately EC$317.5M for 2024, these funds play a vital role in bolstering our fiscal stability and facilitating essential public services and infrastructure projects.

The Grenada Citizenship by Investment Committee (CBIC) is the Government body responsible for overseeing the processing of applications for citizenship by investment or by permanent residence. The CBIC assesses each application in accordance with the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Act, 2013. It then makes recommendations to the Minister, who has the final say on whether to approve, deny, or delay the granting of Grenadian citizenship. The CBIC comprises of seven persons, all of whom answer to the Minister. One of these individuals leads the CBIC as committee chairman. This diverse group of professionals possesses a wealth of experience in areas such as law, finance, trade, and administration – allowing the CBIC to make informed decisions on citizenship matters.
